WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT TO HAVE A VERY GOOD PRONUNCIATION ?
When the sound of the word is not pronounced correctly it might cause confusion and misunderstandings since the receiver would understand incorrectly. Many misunderstandings are due to poor pronunciation or poor intonation. To give just one example, if someone pronounces the words tree / three, / choose, or shoes with little or no difference of sounds between them then there may be communication errors.
Tree [ˈtriː]
Three: [ˈθriː]
Choose: [ˈtʃuːz]
Shoe [ˈʃuː]
The pronunciation is more than seeing how words are pronounced individually. It is seeing the "word stress" (the accentuation), the intonation and mainly what we call the "word linking"
The "word linking" is perhaps, one cause of why the students when hearing a sentence, do not understand but at the time of reading what they hear they see that it is a studied structure and that by reading it easily they understand it. This leads to frustrations that prevent the student from fluent communication. The word linking is the union of sounds between words. Let's see with an example
